  • talk about the importance of understanding your target demographic for the book
    • age, race, gender, marital status, occupation, kids?
    • psychographics: personality traits, what do they enjoy doing in their spare time

10:00 - 20:00 

  • email marketing (you need a system to capture email addresses - this comes before all else)
  • lead magnet >> welcome email series
  • what sort of lead magnet should you create? What is the topic?
    • I want you to browse pinterest to get ideas, to survey your audience (ask friends, etc)
  • Topic is more important than HOW you deliver.
  • Delivery should be decided based on who your target audience is and how they best consume information (do they like to read? do they prefer to listen to information?)
  • once the lead magnet is created, we’re going to replace the forms on the homepage.

20:00 - 25:00

  • Carve out time in your schedule
    • doesn't matter HOW long you work for, just matters that you establish strong work habits and stick to them
  • When are you going to work on the blog
  • I want to know exactly when that is
  • What should you do with that time?
  • time management. Only work on tasks that propel your business forward
    • for now, no facebook, no more publishing blog posts until the lead magnet is done
  • no point in publishing blog posts if you don’t have a funnel for them to go through. if your goal is to build your email list so you can one day launch a book to them, everything you do should be with that goal in mind

25:00 - 35:00

Extra time - questions, built in overflow

  • Talked about niching down - your niche appears to be talking about that post grad life struggles - what to do next, that sort of thing. Potential categories: employment, relationships
  • I recommend focusing on funnels - one funnel at a time. For now, let's focus just on the book funnel and we will go from there. 
  • Your home page design and organization will be different when the lead magnet is created
